How do animals keep themselves safe? Camouflage, hiding, mimicry, Oh My! There are a TON of different ways reptiles protect themselves from predators, let’s learn about them together.
The audience will get to see reptiles from around the world, and some you can find right here in Wisconsin! I’ll bring 4-6 reptiles depending on program length.

Reptiles Around the World
Reptiles include turtles, snakes, alligators, and lizards, but where in the world can we find them? How do snakes and frogs survive in cold weather? Where do the most venomous animals live? Do lizards really eat their own skin?
In this program, I will teach participants about 4-6 different reptiles around the world, how they have adapted to their unique environments, and how they are different from the ones found in Wisconsin!

Are you a teacher who wants a unique class pet? Maybe a pet store owner looking to teach customers about our scaly friends? This is the perfect program to teach the specifics about reptile care, with opportunities to get comfortable handling them! I’ll discuss anything from lifespan to diet to enclosure requirements, answer questions, and quell any fears about owning these exotic critters.

What even is a “Herp?” Amphibians and Reptiles! Right here in Wisconsin??? Yep! When we think about snakes and lizards and where they live, Wisconsin probably doesn’t come to mind! Through hands-on education the audience will learn what critters they can find right in their backyard, and what makes them important members of our ecosystems.
For this program I bring 4-6 different animals, you will get to learn, ask questions, and even touch these often misunderstood creatures. This program can be adapted for any age group, even adults and seniors!

All ages are welcome here! My library programs are flexible and can be paired with a reptile themed read-aloud book. Library guests will leave with plenty of stories to tell about the reptiles and amphibians they got to meet!
Day Care and K5
Best for 3-6 year olds, this shortened, 30 minute program introduces kiddos to wildlife in a safe and positive way. Reptile handling is limited to 1 finger touches.
